April we partied!

Audrey got her purple belt in karate!! (3rd level). She is doing amazing and she's so fun to watch--disciplined, strong and powerful.

 On my birthday, I took the kids on a hike, ate a yummy lunch at Beth's, and then Mr. B took me out for a fancy dinner. Lovely day!

 Declan turned six and had his first birthday party. He invited a few friends for superhero games and cake. We had a great time! 

 Declan got his gold belt--woohoo! It's the first belt test, so he's at the second level now. We're so proud of his hard work and determination!

P.S. I love his teachers, Hannah Miller and Matt Durney. They run a wonderful dojo.

Spring break part 1

Several of our family members came for Ian's baptism and spring break fun. We went to the beach, played at my house, hiked Pt. Lobos and more (see part 2!)

Spring break part 2

My mom does an annual Easter egg hunt for the grandkids and cousins. This year, she brought it to us!

 Another spring break adventure: Cannery Row and Lover's Point. An unexpected beach trip, so we were in jeans with no towels but no one cared in the end.

Ian's baptism

Ian was baptized in the same ceremony with his buddy Boston, who is my best friend Beth's son. It was so special to have the Gardner and the Rood families together.

Rochelle Gardner and Louise Rood were high school best friends. Their daughters, Beth Bernards and me, Bonnie Brien, were also high school best friends. Now our daughters, Claire and Audrey are buddies. This is a happy reunion.
