June was an even harder month! We moved, and it was a ton of physical and emotional work. As always, we had lots of good moments and even took a few photos. The best thing was our annual camping trip to Big Sur Campground and Cabins. I got Covid a week before our trip, and still didn't feel great on the trip--everyone seemed to get sick on and off, not fun. It made enjoying our last few weeks in Monterey challenging, and having the energy to pack even more so. But we got through it, like many others. I hope to never get Covid again. Even vaccinated and boosted I was miserable. At least I didn't need the hospital.
Anyway, back to camping: we played in the river, relaxed, hung out with other campers (Ian's school friend was camped "next door" to us!), hiked, ate campfire nachos and smores, and enjoyed our river view from the site.
Little story about the last photo: as we were packing up the car to come home, Declan got smacked in the face by a basketball, causing his nose to bleed from both nostrils. He and Audrey had been playing with some other kids from the campground, and the one who threw the ball felt so bad she bought him a baseball cap from the campground. Very sweet.
