Swank Farm

One Saturday in October we headed up to Hollister to enjoy Swank farms. We had a blast! Declan got hurt on the school bus door, but the employees got him an ice pack and a smoothie, so all was well. We stopped at Burger Factory on the way home: YUM.

October in Pacific Grove

The first weekend of October is the Butterfly Parade, where PG elementary kids walk in a parade dressed up, as a welcome to the monarchs who begin to arrive for the winter.  We loved it!

We had a week off for fall break and had some fun around town. We went to the Aquarium, Dennis the Menace Park (pictured here), the Farmer's market, costume shopping, and out for frozen yogurt.  

 We had some Halloween themed FHEs. We made oreo spiders (Audrey's idea) and we made roll out sugar cookies. The kids got to roll the dough, cut it out, then decorate. We also carved a pumpkin. October needs to be longer because we had too many ideas!

Happy birthday Amber!

My best friend Amber turned 40, so I felt that was cause for celebration! I flew out to Rhode Island to visit her and her family, and we spent two days in NYC. We saw The Lion King:

On Labor day we had a family picnic at Asilomar beach. My best friend Beth was with us! She and her baby Adele came to visit for a week. Her husband joined her after she had a day with us; he was in Monterey for work and she decided to come along. I loved seeing her again.

Audrey's baptism

The last week of July/first week of August, our family came down from WA to celebrate Audrey's baptism. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by her dad.
